  A search for dim sum near Taraval came up with Riverside. I had out of town guest and wanted to show him authentic dim sum experience.  Went on a Sunday morning  around 11:40 am, found parking readily in the residential neighborhood, walked in and got a table immediately.  I just wondered about the people waiting outside.  This restaurant does not have the push carts, you check off items on the menu list and a short time later our orders came out  one by one piping hot.  Everything tasted really fresh.  
  
  You can tell Riverside serves the neighborhood well, local Chinese families doing the Yum Cha.  
  I spotted a lot of tables had the Hong Kong style fried noodles, must be a specialty.  
  
  Service was fine, friendly and efficient.  The dining room was busy but it was easy to flag a server down.

  Dim sum places are dwindling for some reason. Somebody needs to come up with an AYCE BUFFET DIM SUM! Shrimp dumpling hagow is $4.75 for 4 pieces. Pork dumpling siumai is $4.30 for 4 pieces. Prices are a little on the expensive side but dim sum is made fresh to order so there was a bit of lag between each order. Don't get the mango pudding -- taste like straight from the package. Our orders ranged from $3.85 to $5.50 kinda expensive. I would've wanted boiled tripe but that's $8.10... we lucked out on parking in the area and wait was only about 5 minutes around 1pm on a Saturday. Might come back if I get desperate for dim sum in the area.

  I ordered 3 dished to go,one of them is pork belly with preserved cabbage.  When I got home, the pork belly is all fat, I called and the offered to change it or cook me something else, so I order seafood with tofu.  When I retuned the restaurant, she said they have no control of what the cook did.  I agree, but they shouldn't even cook that pieces of mea, it's a waste of time and effort.  She asked me for $2.12 for the price difference of the tofu dish.  I told her I didn't have money with me, she didn't say anything, so I had to go back to my car and went through my glove box to come up with the $2.
  Never again at this place.  They don't even deserve one star but I had to do it, so I can post my comment.

  Very good assortment of Chinese dishes.  Staff is friendly. It's very busy at times but that's because the food is good.  The price of food is very fair.  Worth the wait!
